FRTS – Private
Do you have a dog that reacts to other dogs, people, children, cyclists, etc., by barking or even lunging? Are walks stressful for both you and your dog? Do you wish you could go for a walk where you pass the trigger without your dog reacting to other dogs? Whether your dog does this because it is insecure, scared, or stressed, this course is right for you.
This course is private for those who are unable to attend the course "From Reactivity to Interaction". The setup is similar, but during the private course, we have a much greater opportunity for individual adaptation.
Personal feedback
After each session, you will receive personal feedback so you know how to train to develop in the right direction.
Structure
The educational material consists of recorded lectures that you can watch at your leisure. In the first session, we will teach the tools and exercises that we will build upon during our sessions. The second and third sessions will be trigger training. This means we will use the exercises from the first session in training with the trigger present. We always ensure that the training is at the right level for the dogs.
Preventive training, managing lunging, de-escalation, and recovery
We begin the course with recorded lectures where you will gain the theoretical knowledge for what we will then work on during this course. Over three sessions, we will meet to provide practical exercises, train with triggers, answer your questions and concerns, and guide you on your journey. During this course, we will cover the following:
- Preventive training – different methods for the dog to handle triggers
- Optimal trigger training zone and learning zone – we will discuss when the dog has the best learning and what the optimal training zone is for achieving success.
- Managing lunging – what to do if an encounter does not go as desired and leads to lunging
- De-escalation – how can we help the dog de-escalate in the right way so it doesn't carry tension from a difficult dog encounter
- Recovery and stress – we will discuss how stress affects the dog daily and how we can facilitate and enable optimal training through proper recovery.
- Safety – how should we think about our safety, our dog's safety, and the safety of others
- Personal feedback – personal feedback and guidance based on your and your dog's needs
- And much more…
We combine theory and practice for the best results
